conservative in the bleachers after the hometown star hits a triple or scores
a power-play goal.
This area, however, is different. Sports often divide rather than unite
because so many of us are not from here. Bucs season-ticket holders sit next
to Packers fans wearing fake cheese on their heads. Rays fans rub elbows with
lifelong members of Red Sox Nation.
Even those who call the Bucs, Rays and Lightning their favorite teams
occasionally bicker. Tampa fans whine about driving across the bridge to
