MARYLAND HAS ZERO TOLLERANCE FOR DUI CASES
If you live in or commute through Howard County Maryland, drinking and driving is not a good idea. Maryland has strict laws against drinking and driving. The state police also have a strict enforcement policy. With several major north south highways running through Howard County, both the state and local police are diligent in their detection efforts. If arrested for either driving while intoxicated or driving under the influence, it is a good idea to consult with a Howard County DUI lawyer.
The penalties for even a first offence are quite severe. A driving while intoxicated charge can result in a fine of up to $500:00 and up to 60 days in jail. In addition, your driver’s license can be suspended for 60 days. A suspended license can cause problems with your employment and create a lot of inconvenience. It is probably better to consult a Howard County DUI lawyer then to lose your license.
A charge of driving under the influence is more serious then driving while imapired. The DUI charge is used in cases where your blood alcohol content is .08 or higher. The DWI means a blood alcohol content of less then .08. The penalties for a DUI are much stronger then for a DWI. Your first offence can result in a fine of up to $1000:00 and a year in jail. If you have a minor in the car, the penalty can double. There is also a possible minimum 45 day suspension of your drivers license.
If you are under 21, Maryland has a zero tolerance law for alcohol. A blood alcohol content of just .02 can result in an arrest for driving while impaired or violating a license restriction. Commercial drivers with a CDL license must be below .04 percent blood alcohol content. When one or two drinks can result in an arrest for drinking and driving it is a good idea not to risk it. Take a cab or get someone else who has not been drinking to drive.
When you consider the impact of having a criminal record and maybe losing your job, it just makes sense to hire a Howard County DUI lawyer. Fines, jail time and the future consequences make drinking and driving a risky business
Two Women Charged for Making False Claims Following Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse (Taste of Country)
Sadly, there will always be a few bad apples who attempt to make selfish gains
from the misfortune of others. Thankfully, in this case, two women who made
false claims in order to get free money following the Indiana State Fair stage
collapse have been caught -- and are being charged. According to Marion County
Prosecutor Terry Curry, Stephanie Murry, 25, and Sandra Hurn, 38, of
Indianapolis attempted to collect [...]
